New Blog

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

On our 6th anniversary (which was few weeks ago) my lovely bobo gave me a very nice surprise… he bought a domain for me to store my recipes…yay.. =)

for the last few weeks I’ve been trying to create food blog linked to my website, but….I didn’t know anything about html, and I still don’t =P…so, I decided to ask someone to help me design my food blog…she’s a professional blogger as well as website designer, and although she’s busy with some projects at the moment she will be able to help me sometimes next month….I’m so excited =)

you can check out my website at www.carolineveronica.com. While you can’t see the recipes yet, you can browse and look at some pictures that I posted =) I also plan to use this website as a way to give an update about what’s going on in our life for our family and friends…=D

oh, somehow my storage here is not full anymore, fs probably added the allotment this month…it’s very strange, but I’m not complaining since it’s good for me =P.. so here are some food pics that I made in the last few weeks…I will post the complete recipes once I have my blog running =)

Bad News

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I was trying, many times, to upload my pictures & failed…then I found out that my storage is full:

Your diskspace allotment:

50 megabytes

Your actual diskspace usage:

49.74 megabytes (99.49%)

It sucks because I have to pay FS to get more storage,…I don’t mind paying, but if I ever decide to cancel the "membership" in the future, all my entries will be deleted…

So, I’m trying to figure out whether I should move to different blog hosting or not…until then, I can’t post any pictures anymore =(

Chicken Noodle ~ Mie Ayam

Saturday, July 1st, 2006

When we got home last night we were both hungry and tired. Not wanting to go out for dinner, I opted to cook something easy and FAST =)

I checked the fridge, and found some chicken…looked at the pantry and found out some dry noodle and dry shitake mushroom…hmm…what to cook?

1noodle

well, Chicken noodle or Mie Ayam is very easy and fast too cook…it’s healthy too, as it consists of a complete protein and carb….

–So, I proceed to chopped some garlic…and sautee with oil…

–and cut the chicken in a tiny square…and boil it..then added it to the sautéed garlic…added some oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, salt and sugar…

–used the boil water from chicken to softened the dry shitake…then added the shitake to the sautéed chicken…then set aside….

then I used the boiled water from the shitake and chicken for our soup..just added a bit of soy sauce and salt on it…

Water

– boil some water and add the dry noodle (as needed).

Dry_noodle

I used this type of dry noodle because of its similar texture to mie ayam in

Indonesia

…found out from my friend who use this noodle to cook her specialty in cold noodle..(I have the recipe from her, but that will be another story and another time =)

– When the noodle was cooked, I sprinkle it with sesame oil….

– Put some noodle in a bowl and add the chicken mushroom on top of it and we’re ready to eat…. I was suppose to add green onion but since I ran out of it I didn’t put any…but it still delicious anyway =P

also, you can add some steamed vegetable like bok choy if you like…

It took me less than 30 minutes to cook our dinner. Hopefully you will find it easy as well as tasty too =)
